A. On time for meetings
B. Timely return of phone calls, emails, texts.

Fitness:
 
A. Can the official run the floor from Trail to Lead.
B. Does the official have good foot work and agility. 
C. Can the official run with the same urgency in the last 4 minutes of the game which they did in the first 4 minutes
D. Does the official stay connected to plays with their feet
 
 
Positioning:
A. Does the official make good position adjustments in the Trail and Center(Slot) positions.
B. Does the official rotate well in the Lead.
C. Does the official in the Lead, officiate defender to defender on drives to the basket.
D. Does the official in the Lead, remains patient on drives to the basket.
E. Do all three officials get to their dependable positions.
F. Does the Trail and Center(Slot) stay attached to the side-line.
 
Awareness:
A. Game Clock Awareness.

Fundamentals:
A. Is the official assertive in their primary.

    Al Battista

    Al Battista is regarded as one of the most knowledgeable experts in the field of basketball rules at all levels.  In addition to this, he is a well-known clinician and observer of officials.   Currently, he is Maryland State and Board 12 Interpreter for scholastic basketball.  He has served as an officials’ observer for the NBA and WNBA and is currently the NBA chief scout for officials in the Northeast USA.
