If a player is going for a loose ball and an opponent dives or throws their body, which changes the direction of the player going for a loose ball, this must be considered illegal contact and a foul ruled. If a player is in possession of a loose ball and an opponent dives on top of that player , a foul must be ruled. This can be a tough play, don’t be swayed by the audience on this play. This is a freedom of movement play. Encourage aggressive play, but enforce rough play. There is a huge difference and they are not similar.
