NFHS Rules Quiz 11

1. A legal game ball shall have a deeply-pebbled, granulated surface with horizontally shaped panels bounded tightly to the rubber carcass? T-F.

2. The pebbled granulated surface shall include the NFHS authenticating mark on the game ball ? T-F.

3. In the WCAC, MAC, IAC, A-1 dribbles in the front court and is closely guarded by B-1. The trail official does not have a “5” second  closely- guarded count. Is the trail official correct? Yes-No.

4. In a MPSSAA game ,would the trail official be correct in question #3? Yes or No.

5. A-1 is dribbling the ball in their front court. While dribbling ,A-1 pushes off B-1. Team B is in the bonus. Should Team B shoot the bonus? Yes or No.

6. In “2” person mechanics, on drives to the basket on the trail side of the court, if the ball handler makes a pass, the trail official stays with the “crash” and the lead official takes the pass? T-F.

7. A player shall not be the first to touch the ball after it has been in team control in the front court, if he/she or a teammate last touched or was touched by the ball in the front court before it went to the backcourt? T-F.

8. A-1 has control of the ball in the front court. A-1 throws a pass that is deflected by B-1 to A-2 in the back court. A-2 catches the ball before it touches the floor. The trail official rules a back court violation? T-F.

9. A screener cannot set a legal screen while standing on a boundary line? T-F.

10. When an offensive player is in a triple threat position, the responsible official must find the offender’s pivot foot and then officiate the defender? T-F.
